Chris Long Blasts Toronto Fans in NSFW Tweets for Cheering and Taunting Injured Kevin Durant
By Sean Facey
Chris Long is decidedly not a fan of the reaction from the Scotiabank Arena crowd following Kevin Durant's injury during Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Long blasted the Raptors fans in attendance for cheering when Durant hit the floor in a brief series of NSFW tweets.
"[Expletive] Toronto sports," Long tweeted. "Classless [expletive]," he served up in a reply.
He's got a point, however crude it may be. Raptors fans should be ashamed of themselves. Under no circumstances is an injury to a player in a championship game worth cheering for. It's simply unsportsmanlike.
It's understandable that they're excited at the prospect of seeing the first NBA Finals title in franchise history, but that doesn't excuse such a classless reaction from the crowd.
Things got so embarrassing that Raptors players Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry actually had to implore the crowd to quiet down as Durant was helped off of the court.
This was a textbook example of how not to treat the opponent. The fans gave Durant and the Warriors absolutely no respect and they deserve every bit of flak that comes their way for their actions.
