The Boston Red Sox had a rough go of things to start off the 2019 season. Yet, slowly but surely, the team from Bean Town is inching up the AL East standings.
Boston got a bit of help with that by sweeping the Baltimore Orioles in this weekend's series. With that, catcher Christian Vazquez openly believes that the defending World Series Champions are, indeed, back.

The confidence is beaming in Vazquez, that's for sure.
Yet, this came after defeating the Orioles in three games, where they outscored them 28 runs to 10. Oh, and Baltimore is 21-50 on the season, and are a staggering 22.5 games behind the New York Yankees for first place.

There's still plenty of season for the Red Sox to prove that they're back to their winning ways. Boston gets that opportunity at the start of the work week, as they face the AL Central leading Minnesota Twins, who have one of the more feared offenses in the league.
Beating Baltimore, however, is utterly meaningless and lacking in symbolism.
