Christian Yelich Drops Awesome Comment After Hitting Clutch Homer Against Cubs
By Mark Powell
Christian Yelich is on a tear. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Yelich could very well be on his way to back-to-back MVP campaigns, although he's currently just a neck ahead of Cody Bellinger due to the Dodgers' slugger's recent slump.
After hitting the game-tying home run against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, Yelich gave one last soundbite to the haters.
What regression?
Any columnist who expected Yelich to take a step back was out of their element to begin with, but no one could've seen this coming. The Brewers outfielder has actually already improved upon his power numbers and his batting average is right on par with 2018.
With the Brewers still competing with the Cardinals and Cubs in the jam-packed NL Central, every Yelich at-bat is pressure-packed, especially against division rivals. MVP voters ought to take that into account, especially if Yelich can somehow carry this Brewers team to the postseason.
