There's no doubting that the Milwaukee Brewers, who begin their 2019 postseason trek Tuesday night in the NL Wild Card game versus the Washington Nationals, are taking things one game at a time.

However, and this is alarmingly hypothetical, if Craig Counsell's club defies the odds and make a magical run to the Fall Classic, superstar outfielder Christian Yelich opened the door on a potential return.

The timeline would match up almost identically with his projected recovery period, though Yelich admitted "it would be cutting it close."

Of course, the reigning NL MVP was announced out for the remainder of the 2019 campaign in mid-September with a fractured kneecap after fouling a ball of his knee.

At the time, the Brewers were 1.5 games back of the Wild Card and most pundits around the country completely wrote the team off.

But Milwaukee pulled off a remarkable final month of the regular season and clinched a playoff berth, narrowly missing out on the NL Central crown.

In the meantime, Yeli will be supporting his teammates from the Brewers dugout, but his comments on a potential return are definitely something the city can rally behind ahead of Tuesday night's win-or-go-home showdown.
