Christian Yelich Shares Encouraging Update on His Recovery From Broken Kneecap
By Jerry Trotta

The Milwaukee Brewers were the talk of the baseball world for the last month of the season, as they went on an unprecedented run down the stretch to clinch a spot in the NL Wild Card Game.
Of course, they did so without superstar outfielder Christian Yelich, who went down with a fractured kneecap, and it really makes you think how far they could have gone with Yeli in the everyday lineup.
However, there's no time to dwell on the past, and it's now time for the Brewers and Yelich to move forward. Luckily, the latest update suggests that the 2018 NL MVP will be fully healthy for Milwaukee's winter workouts.

The injury took place in September and Yelich was subsequently given an 8-to-10 week recovery timetable. Based on this report, it appears that he will meet that projection for complete range of motion.
If he is indeed able to return to full health for winter workouts, the two-time All-Star would be on track to begin Spring Training in full gear without any limitations. That, of course, would mean that he could be unleashed come Opening Day 2020.

We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but this would be huge news for the Brewers and a major exhale, as Yelich slashed .329/.429/.671 with 44 home runs, 100 runs scored, and 97 RBI in 130 games in 2019 prior to going down with the injury.
