Chuba Hubbard Really Didn't Need to Apologize for Blasting Mike Gundy on Twitter
By Michael Luciano

Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard almost turned the entire program upside down when he threatened to stop his association with the team after head coach Mike Gundy was seen in a "One America News" shirt on a fishing trip. Luckily for Cowboys fans, the two warring factions seem to be on the same page as of last night.
Hubbard has since apologized, claiming that "change is coming," but his actions really didn't warrant an apology and capitulation.
Change is coming I promise you that. pic.twitter.com/wTGHtByh3N

Tone-deaf doesn't even begin to describe wearing an OAN shirt as a college football coach given the current social climate, and Hubbard staying silent on the whole ordeal probably would have raised more alarms.
In a disgusting day in sports, nothing more nauseating than the video of Chuba Hubbard standing next to OAN-toting Mike Gundy and...apologizing? For what?

Likewise, the shirt clearly was not the only thing Gundy has done over the last few years that got Hubbard and dozens of current and former Cowboys so irate. It's always a good time to air out dirty laundry, especially if some of Gundy's wrongdoings in the past could be construed as racially insensitive.

Hubbard's head coach clearly did something unfathomably stupid, and the star running back, showing true bravery and leadership, called him out rather than allow it to go on unabated. While Hubbard's apology could be viewed as him showing forgiveness and letting bygones be bygones, it wasn't totally necessary right now.
