CJ McCollum Agrees to $100 Million Extension With Trail Blazers

Only Adrian Wojnarowski would manage to drop major news in the midst of the MLB's frenzied trade deadline.
The Portland Trail Blazers, following the extension of Damian Lillard to a supermax extension earlier in the month, have now moved to lock up their acclaimed backcourt through the mid-2020's.
Woj has confirmed that CJ McCollum has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $100 million to remain with Rip City, morphing his current deal with the franchise too five years and $157 mil.

It's quite simply a tremendous move for general manager Neil Olshey the summer after CJ and Dame led the Blazers to the Western Conference Finals. The former winner of the NBA's Most Improved Player award was as good as ever in 2018-2019 for head coach Terry Stotts. He averaged 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while shooting a shade under 46% from the floor and 37.5% from 3.
The Blazers wasted almost no time locking up the former Lehigh star, as he just became eligible for an extension last week.

Dame and CJ will continue terrorizing opposing defenses until 2024 and Portland has successfully managed to both acquire talent and extend their stars in the offseason. I'd call that a very successful summer.
