Claiming the Cubs Are Done is Premature and Irresponsible

Contrary to popular reports, the sky isn't falling at Wrigley Field.

Despite remaining tied with the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the NL Central, the Cubs dubiously have the same amount of losses as their crosstown rival White Sox, who are still very much in rebuilding mode as they wait for the next wave of prospects to come up.

You could stick a fork in a team with an MVP candidate in Javier Baez, the dynamic duo of Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant in the heart of the order, and a lineup without a weak spot when everyone is healthy as much as you want, but the Cubs should start playing up to their MLB The Show rating and figure things out.

Yes, the bullpen is still a jumbled mess and the once-feared starting pitching is merely average, but an experienced manager like Joe Maddon will know what buttons to press to get things sorted out. Once Craig Kimbrel shakes off the rust and returns to form the Cubs back end will once again be respectable.

Everyone just needs to take a deep breath, remember how deep, experienced, and talented this Cubs team is, and then realize this four-game losing streak is a momentary blip on the radar.
