Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence Calls Out Paul Finebaum on Twitter in Response to Pointless Take

Paul Finebaum doesn't seem to have much respect for the Clemson Tigers. The college football analyst rudely called Clemson offensive lineman John Simpson's comment that Notre Dame was better than Alabama in 2018 "one of the stupidest comments I've ever heard."

That didn't sit well with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who fired right back in defense of his teammate by calling Finebaum's pointless take "unprofessional."

It's good to see that Lawrence has he's teammate's back against unreasonable criticism from a talking head.

He could have taken the high road and politely disagreed with what was frankly a bold take by Simpson, but he didn't need to degrade the offensive lineman so viciously.

Finebaum also criticized the team as a whole, saying that "Clemson just doesn't know how to win yet." For someone who seems to value class, Finebaum certainly doesn't practice what he preaches.

Clemson seems to be doing just fine anyway. They've made the College Football Championship three times in the last four years, winning twice over the Crimson Tide, and even they even polished off an undefeated season in 2018 with a sound 44-16 victory.

It's reasonable to think that a team that's been so dominant for the past half-decade can say whatever they want about their opponents. They've gotten the job done, and they deserve the respect of the people who watch them play.
