VIDEO: Clemson TE Braden Galloway Reflects on Return From One-Year PED Suspension for Fiesta Bowl
By Sam Dunn

For being undefeated defending national champs, the Clemson Tigers are getting a serious lack of buzz entering the College Football Playoff given the country's self-replenishing adoration of LSU and Ohio State. Perhaps being unexpected suits Dabo Swinney's team, too, which could get an unlikely boost from a player many spent 2019 thinking very little about -- tight end Braden Galloway, who has finally been reinstated following a one-year suspension for testing positive for ostarine, a banned performance-enhancing substance.

Galloway was quick to say to media members Wednesday that his long layoff has shaped him into a better football player. But he notably maintains that he never knowingly ingested any PED.
"It bothers me whenever there's NCAA drug testing. I don't know how it got in my system," he said. "Every time I get drug tested, I'm nervous for that whole next week. I don't know if I put something in my system that I just didn't know about, but we take it very seriously what I put in my body."

Galloway recorded five catches for 52 yards and a touchdown as a freshman in 2018, and worked on the scout team while suspended. Per NCAA rules, he'll be able to use this season as a redshirt year, given that he'll partipate in no more than two games, returning as a third-year sophomore next season.
