One Surprise Cut the Cleveland Browns Could Still Make This Offseason
By Michael Luciano

The Cleveland Browns have reloaded after a disappointing 6-10 season in 2019, but head coach Kevin Stefanski might not be done getting rid of some of the dead weight from the Freddie Kitchens era.
One defensive starter from the last two years who needs to show up to training camp hungry and motivated to keep his starting job is former third-round pick and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi.
8 players rushed the passer 150+ times lined up at NT last year. Their pass-rushing grades there were:
— Ben Linsey (@PFF_Linsey) May 1, 2020
1. Kenny Clark: 90.9
2. Vita Vea: 87.5
3. Daron Payne: 64.6
4. DaQuan Jones: 64.4
5. Adam Butler: 63.8
6. Larry Ogunjobi: 60.8
7. Linval Joseph: 58.3
8. Brandon Mebane: 45.6
Ogunjobi's 5.5 sacks are solid for a defensive tackle, but the rate at which he got to the quarterback is (just 13 QB hits all season long) is below average.
Cleveland must not be sold on Ogunjobi's ability to play next to Sheldon Richardson, as they used a third-round pick on Missouri defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, who made his name as a solid pass rusher for a 315-pound lineman.
His play and their draft activity point to the fact that Ogunjobi is not guaranteed a second contract with the Browns.

For all of John Dorsey's faults, he did a good job of identifying which players are capable of being franchise building blocks and signing them to long-term deals. Neither Dorsey nor Andrew Berry, however, gave such a deal to Ogunjobi, who could be cut if Richardson returns to Pro Bowl form and Elliott impresses.
