Clint Frazier's Quote After Being Told He'd Be Promoted on Sunday Proves He's Ready
By Adam Weinrib
Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and Yankee fans have only fallen deeper in love with outfielder Clint Frazier's outspoken nature and clutch bat since he was demoted in June, in part to get his defense up to snuff (and in part because the Yankees had options on Frazier's deal, and a million viable offensive players).
But when the clock strikes September on Sunday morning, Frazier will be among several Yankees heading to join the big league squad once rosters expand, and he's ready to attack the challenge with his trademark fervor.
Frazier had to work nearly as hard to attain this return, after all, so it should feel good.
Fans are certainly split on his early-season status as a supposed "distraction"; most see Frazier's antics for what they were, but some genuinely believed he was using his postgame frustrations to undermine his teammates.
In reality, what really matters is the man can hit, and the man carried the April Yankees on their west coast trip when they were utterly beset by the first damaging wave of injuries.
He's an impact player, and he's a MAJOR LEAGUE player. The kid deserves a stretch run to prove it.
