SLAM has been at the forefront of US basketball coverage dating back to 1994. The magazine chases interesting stories in and around basketball, but, back in the day, there was nothing cooler than being selected as one of its cover athletes. Countless colorful displays grasp the attention of basketball fans each year with detailed photographs that pop off the front page.

Several shoots that have graced the cover stand out above the rest, but none compare to the all-time classic pulled off by former Los Angeles Clippers stars Elton Brand, Darius Miles and Lamar Odom. Well, Clippers fans will be delighted when they see the newest edition, as SLAM has re-created the beloved cover using a triad of modern day Clipper stars.

Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell traded places with the former Clippers on the cover of SLAM 226. Wearing each others jerseys backwards and flashy accessories they deemed fitting, this cover idea is supposed to reflect change in the sport's player culture over the last several decades.

Harrell could be the instigator behind this remake. After all, he owns a shirt of the original take.

To anyone wondering why superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George didn't make the cut, it's because Beverley, Harrell and Williams are the longest-tenured Clippers. They weren't drafted to LA like Odom or Miles, but they represent the core of this latest Clippers rebuild.
