VIDEO: Close Angle of Jimmy Garoppolo Sack Shows How Close He Might've Been to Brutal Knee Injury
By Mark Powell

Just one year after a major procedure on his knee, Jimmy Garoppolo's brace might've saved him another tough break in the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers. A close-up angle reveals just how close Garoppolo came to what could've been a devastating setback.

That's a huge yikes.
Thankfully, Jimmy G is okay and the medical staff pre-planned for such a scenario. While some question exactly how much Garoppolo has to do with the Niners offensive success, considering how far they've come in just a year (with a healthy Jimmy G, for that matter), it's obvious to those around the team that they can't afford to lose the Eastern Illinois product.

Garoppolo's role in this offense is to spread the ball around and run Kyle Shanahan's system. Thus far this season, he's done that to perfection.
And he got a reprieve after a major scare early in Sunday's big game.
