VIDEO: Cody Garbrandt and Sugar Sean O'Malley Dominate UFC 250 With Last-Second KOs
By Michael Luciano
UFC 250 was not short on knockouts during the main card, as Sugar Sean O'Malley and Cody Garbrandt both earned themselves "Knockout of the Year" consideration. O'Malley and his rainbow cornrows flattened Eddie Wineland, as one quick punch to the jaw ended the fight in the first round.
What makes this such a great knockout is how easy it looked for O'Malley. He barely broke a sweat during this bout.
Later in the night, however, Garbrandt might have topped that. Garbrandt ended Raphael Assuncao right before the horn sounded in Round 2. After putting his hands down to effectively taunt Assuncao, Garbrandt unleashed a thunderous right hook, ended the Brazilian's night.
Garbrandt, who got back on the right track following the Pedro Munhoz fight, has always been one to show off and act like a pest when he's in the octagon, and he lived up to that billing during his latest fight. Even before Amanda Nunes retained her belt, UFC 250 was a smashing success due to these high quality knockouts.
