Cole Hamels' Numbers at Wrigley Field and Against Cardinals Are Jaw-Dropping
By Ryan Flores

We all know how good Cole Hamels has been throughout his career, but these recent stats are flat out insane.
Since being traded from the Texas Rangers to the Chicago Cubs in 2018, Hamels has been otherworldly at Wrigley Field, and has really enjoyed playing the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hamels also now sports a 1.83 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 127 Ks in 128 career innings at Wrigley Field.

Hamels is posting numbers as if he were still in his prime.
Cole Hamels pitches brilliantly today! 8 shutout innings, 10 Ks, only 1 BB & 3 hits allowed. Great start to the Cardinals homestand, looks like the bullpen will close it out in the 9th pic.twitter.com/5mhoTfBcjV

He has proven to be far more comfortable pitching in the National League, as he has a career 3.27 ERA in 12 NL seasons in comparison to a 3.90 ERA in four American League seasons, all of which came with the Texas Rangers. This isn't surprising, as most of his accolades, including a World Series championship, have come during his time in the NL.

With the way he's pitching and the way the Cubs are performing, another ring isn't out of the question for Mr. Hamels. The left-hander is 5-2 with a 3.24 ERA on the year, and the Cubs are now 35-27, good for first in the NL Central.
It's safe to say that last year's trade between the Rangers and Cubbies was a complete win for Chicago.
