Ohhhh boy! Do you wanna know why the New England Patriots aren't going after Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton this offseason after losing Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? It's because they're TANKING FOR TREVOR LAWRENCE, BABY!! That, of course, is according to Colin Cowherd, who has never been wrong about anything ever.
"Andy Dalton is on the market right now. He's better than Jarrett Stidham, and he's better than Brian Hoyer, who they brought back. Why doesn't New England go after Andy Dalton?

Some may call it stupid, but guess what? Bill Belichick looking this directionless for the first time in his Patriots career has many pondering if he really does have some master plan he's about execute to make every other NFL team look foolish all over again.
Tanking for Clemson's Lawrence in 2021 is... ambitious, to say the least. But given the Patriots' current roster construction after all of their offseason departures, it's really difficult to see this team doing much of anything in 2020.
If Jarrett Stidham plays well at QB, that's a positive.
If he doesn't, maybe that's a different kind of positive.

It sounds absolutely out of this world, but when you look at the current state of the NFL, the Patriots are no doubt in a rough pisition. Is it so crazy to imagine them picking atop the 2021 draft? If you ask ol' Colin, it's the most natural of all moves.
