If you thought the blackballing quagmire surrounding Colin Kaepernick was nearing a close, well, it appears that is anything but the case after Thursday's developments.

ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped statements which have been publicized by Kap's reps regarding his NFL future.

The press releases confirm that Kap is permitted to seek NFL employment even after filing a grievance against the league. The document notes that his former San Fran teammate, Eric Reid, filed the same grievance and was eventually signed by the Carolina Panthers.

The entire statement features several pointers, but perhaps the most notable came with the answer to the question, "Have you reached out to every team on Colin's behalf?"

Kaepernick's representatives replied, "I have reached out to all 32 teams about Colin's employment, with little to no response from teams about an opportunity for Colin. In 25 years, I have never seen anything like it."

The document continued to note that not a SINGLE team has brought Kaepernick in for a workout, despite the league's claims of the opposite.

"Seattle brought Colin in for a visit but did not work him out," said the free agent's reps. "Afterwards, Pete Carroll said Colin is a 'starter in this league'."

Kap still wants to rejoin the NFL as he's been working out five days a week for the last three years to remain prepared if a team ever takes a chance on him.

It is just such a damn shame. The narrative is obviously a few years old, so we don't dive that deeply into it, but allow us to say one thing.

A man by the name of Devlin Hodges, an undrafted FCS rookie, is projected to start for the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. If you're still (somehow) convinced that Kaepernick isn't being ostracized, just think about that laughable reality long and hard and you'll come around...we hope.
