3 College Football Coaches on the Hot Seat Entering 2020 Season

Turnover at head coach is not a key to success for college football teams. However, sometimes the supposed savior of a program ends up being a dud and the school has to part ways before things get too bad. There are several Power 5 coaches who enter the 2020 season on the hot seat after disappointing tenures at schools who expect greatness.
3. Scott Frost, Nebraska
Frost turned around a terrible UCF program and finished with a 13-0 record in his second season in charge. He was a hot commodity and got the job at Nebraska with limited experience. That has shown as he has a record of 9-15 in two seasons with the Huskers. Frost was a great quarterback as a player at Nebraska, yet the nostalgia will wear thin if the team misses a bowl for the third straight season.
2. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
Harbaugh has amassed a record of 47-18 in five years at Michigan. The problem is his 1-4 bowl record and the fact he can't beat Ohio State. The worst record he has at Michigan is 8-5 in 2017. Harbaugh likely won't be fired if Michigan has another average year, but he has to be on the hot seat already. The program is supposed to be a powerhouse like Ohio State, but is clearly nowhere near that level with Harbaugh. If the status quo remains in 2020, Michigan has to begin thinking about replacements.
1. Will Muschamp, South Carolina
Will Muschamp took over for Steve Spurrier and has struggled. He has a record of 26-25 in four seasons and just one bowl win. 2019 saw the Gamecocks go 4-8. Muschamp was an interesting hire because he only went 28-21 in four years at Florida. Losses to North Carolina and Appalachian State last year were a disaster and instantly put Muschamp on the hot seat. Another disappointing season could result in Muschamp being shown the door.
