This Colts Player is a Surprise Breakout Candidate for 2020
By Michael Luciano
The Indianapolis Colts' secondary will determine how far they can go in the 2020 season, as they could be one of the better units in the league if the youngsters hit their stride or one of the worse if they don't hit certain developmental milestones.
One player of whom much is expected is former No. 34 overall pick and Temple star Rock Ya-Sin, who proved during the last few weeks of the season that his intense nature at the line of scrimmage makes him one of the most promising cornerbacks in the league.
Ya-Sin struggled in his first few games, especially when he took on Courtland Sutton and the Denver Broncos, but he really turned it around in the second-half of the year, as he placed in the top 10 in yards allowed per coverage snap while averaging 17 coverage snaps between receptions. Not bad for a guy some Colts fans turned on after a few games.
His speed is a question, but you won't find many corners that pack as much of a wallop as a tackler or have such an aggressive, feisty demeanor in coverage. Ya-Sin looks like a starter for the next decade.
Ya-Sin's eye-catching name is going to be the first thing everyone notices, but this guy can make some tremendous plays on the ball, and he should be a prime candidate to mate the Year 2 leap.
