Colts re-sign standout safety Julian Blackmon to a one-year contract

The youngster is staying put with the AFC South side

This late in free agency, a lot of Indianapolis Colts fans were worried that safety Julian Blackmon could end up leaving to sign with a new team. Blackmon just wrapped up his best campaign in the NFL, turning heads from start to finish.

It turns out he's going to be staying out in the AFC South after all. On Tuesday night, news broke that the Colts had re-signed the playmaker to a one-year deal. Go ahead and celebrate this, Indy supporters.

According to Ian Rapoport, it's a one-year deal worth up to $7.7 million for Blackmon, with $3.2 million guaranteed. Last season for the Colts, No. 32 posted 88 total tackles, four interceptions and eight pass deflections, all career highs for him.
