Colts WR TY Hilton Expected to Miss 3 Weeks With Calf Injury and That's Bad News
By Chris Russo
The Indianapolis Colts have won three games in a row, but their offense might not be so high-flying on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Reports indicate leading receiver TY Hilton will be held out of their Week 9 clash, and likely longer, as he recovers from a calf injury.
Hilton initially suffered the calf injury during Wednesday's practice and after not taking the field for Thursday or Friday's session, Frank Reich ruled the star receiver out for Sunday's tilt.
When Hilton has missed time in the past, it's typically resulted in a loss for the team. They'll be hoping to change that narrative against the Steelers with the 29-year-old on the sidelines.
This season, Hilton has racked up 32 receptions for 360 yards and five touchdowns, nearly matching his season total of six TDs from last season through just six games in 2019.
The Colts will be hopeful their star receiver can return for Week 10's clash with the Dolphins, though, per Adam Schefter's report, he may be looking at a three-week stint on the shelf. That timetable would see him return for a pivotal Week 12 clash against the Texans.
With Hilton sidelined, expect the Colts to target their tight end tandem of Eric Ebron and Jack Doyle more frequently, while Zach Pascal could also see an uptick in opportunity.
