Conor McGregor Responds to Mike Tyson and Teases Boxing Rematch With Floyd Mayweather Jr.
By Andrew Gullotta
Conor McGregor has always been known to make headlines in the world of boxing and MMA. His confidence is next to none and he is going to show it.
McGregor was back at it again Thursday night after he said on Twitter that he will eventually defeat Floyd Mayweather in response to a post by Mike Tyson. Mayweather defeated McGregor by TKO in their first blockbuster fight back in 2017.
Currently, it will be pretty hard for McGregor to get revenge on Mayweather, as the undefeated boxer is retired while McGregor is resurrecting his MMA career. Then again, it's not out of the question for both of these wildcards to reverse course at any point given what we know about them.
It seemed like McGregor was focused on his UFC career and returning to the top if the sport, but is there a change of focus? Mayweather has been teasing a rematch for awhile now, so this could mean that a fight may be on the horizon.
At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, but as long as the door is open on both ends, fans will have hope in seeing these two hop in the ring and battle for the second time.
