Coolest Super Bowl Rings in NFL History
By Will Coleman
Either the San Francisco 49ers or Kansas City Chiefs will be able to call themselves "world champions" again this Sunday in Miami, and they'll be able to remember it with a kick-ass Super Bowl ring. It's always fun to see the creativity and detail put into championship ring designs across all sports, but none are as flashy or dynamic as Super Bowl rings. Here are some of the sickest rings in Super Bowl history.
5. Oakland Raiders: Super Bowl XI
It's simple, sure, but at the time this was a lot more flashy than normal. The iconic Oakland Raiders Silver and Black makes for the perfect background for all those diamonds. What this ring lacks in variety it makes up for with that glowing football centerpiece.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers: Super Bowl XIII
Just two years later, the Cowboys and Steelers met in Miami to determine who would be the first to three Super Bowl titles. The Steelers edged out the Cowboys 35-31 and went home with a ring that was somehow more epic than the game itself. The face of the ring peeks into Pittsburgh's future postseason success with more Lombardi trophies to come.
3. Seattle Seahawks: Super Bowl XLVIII
The Seahawks took home the franchise's first championship with one of the more dominant performances in Super Bowl history, a 43-8 beatdown of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. This ring was one of the coolest ever crafted, particularly due to the emerald in the middle of the ring, representing the eye in the Seahawks' logo.
2. Denver Broncos: Super Bowl 50
Thanks to a Von Miller strip sack of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, Manning became the first starting quarterback to win Super Bowls with two different teams. It's only fitting the Super Bowl ring for the 50th edition of the game is practically covered in diamonds from top to bottom. The killer combination of white gold and sapphire makes the orange pop, resulting in one of the nicest rings in Super Bowl history.
1. New England Patriots: LIII
The Patriots have owned the record for most Super Bowl appearances, though it wasn't until last year that they matched the Steelers for the lead with six league championships. Their 13-3 win over the Rams could have easily been the least entertaining Super Bowl game, but it could stand out in NFL history as the end of a significant dynasty. With a 76-diamond border and 20 more sapphires that represent the organization's AFC East titles, manufacturer Jostens says they're the largest rings in Super Bowl history.
