Corey Kluber Pens Goodbye Letter to Cleveland Weeks After Trade to Rangers
By Alex Coffman

Corey Kluber is now a Texas Ranger after he was traded in mid-December, but it sounds like he's going to miss Cleveland a whole lot.
Drafted by the Padres, Kluber was lost for years in San Diego's minor leagues. By 2010, he was traded to the Indians, where he would make his debut a year later and soon become a star, so it's safe to say he's going to have a lot of memories during his decade in Cleveland.
I'll be coming back as a Ranger, but I'll always be from Cleveland. @playerstribune https://t.co/rcZ9E73Bg8

The two-time Cy Young winner reminisced on his development in the Indians' organization in his piece with the Players' Tribune. He called it a "perfect marriage" and said "Cleveland was where I learned how to be a professional baseball player."
But sadly, business is business and the Indians have been on a mission to slash payroll this offseason, and Kluber's $17.5 million salary was dumped. Cleveland went out and took a flyer on two young players from the Rangers in Delino DeShields and Emmanuel Clase. Both player have good upside, but aren't anywhere near Kluber's current talent.
What the hell was that Corey Kluber trade? Clase and DeShields and that’s it? How did the Yankees not top that?

Nonetheless, we'll see Kluber back at Progressive Field next year when the Rangers visit the Indians in May.
Kluber couldn't complete his career in Cleveland but says in his piece, "I'll be back as a Ranger, but I'll always be from Cleveland."
