Packers and Raiders Reportedly 'All Over' Former Pro Bowl LB Cory Littleton as Beginning of New League Year Looms
By Mark Powell
NFL Free Agency will be a full go in a matter of days as the new CBA dictates the league year will begin on time despite the spread of coronavirus.
While the concerns are obvious and legitimate, the NFL is once again expanding its reach, providing news while their main competitors remain dormant. Whether that's justified, of course, is a question in itself.
In the meantime, the Packers and Raiders are already plotting their first move, as both are interested in former Pro Bowl linebacker Cory Littleton.
Littleton has posted back-to-back seasons of 125+ tackles, which would make him a valuable addition to either of these front-7's, and we don't just mean financially. At just 26 years of age, Littleton is still in his prime and is sure to be in high demand. The Rams' salary cap situation puts them at a disadvantage to retain his services.
The Raiders have loads of cap space, and the Packers showed they weren't afraid to spend on defense last offseason. Whether either team will show Littleton the kind of money he's expecting remains to be seen.
