Cowboy Legend Drew Pearson Slams Mel Tucker After He Left Colorado to Take Michigan State Job
By Michael Luciano

Michigan State's brutal coaching search after the retirement of Mark Dantonio came to an abrupt end when they managed to poach Colorado head coach Mel Tucker on Tuesday night.
Naturally, the Buffaloes and their fans aren't thrilled that Tucker slipped out the back door like this.
Legendary Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson is sharpening his pitchfork as we speak, as he claims Tucker lied to his grandson, a Colorado signee. Tucker had told Pearson's grandson he wasn't going anywhere. Yikes.
MEL TUCKER IS A CON MAN! He recruited my grandson to go to CU said he wasn’t going anywhere then ups and leaves. Sat there and lied to my face he wasn’t going anywhere!

So I want to beat him up today on social media.
What else can I do?
Toren Pittman, Pearson's grandson, is a three-star outside linebacker who committed to Colorado in November. He and other players like former No. 1 overall recruit and Alabama transfer Antonio Alfano could end up going elsewhere now.
Tucker was a defensive backs coach or defensive coordinator in the NFL from 2005 to 2014, including spells with the Browns, Jaguars and Bears. Then, he spent 2015 with Nick Saban and Alabama before heading to Georgia in 2016.
After three years as Kirby Smart's defensive coordinator at Georgia, Tucker took the Colorado head coaching job. Despite an offense featuring Steven Montez at quarterback as well as Tony Brown, KD Nixon and potential first-round pick Laviska Shenault at wide receiver, Tucker went just 5-7 in his first season in Boulder, the same amount of wins Mike MacIntyre put up in each of his last two seasons with the Buffs.
BREAKING: #CU coach Mel Tucker has agreed in principle to become the new head coach at #MichiganState, per sources. After Tucker turned down initial interest, MSU power brokers came back repeatedly to Tucker’s reps w/ an offer that was impossible to ignore https://t.co/qjOH0qKirQ

Credit to Michigan State for getting someone with as much experience as Tucker, but he messed up the college careers of a lot of kids by leaving at the 11th hour for East Lansing. Tucker probably burned whatever bridges he made at Colorado by leaving so abruptly.
