On what should've been a jubilant night in Dak Prescott's household, we were instead served a harsh reminder of the prevalence of loss in his football life.
Well-known for withstanding the death of his beloved mother during his college years at Mississippi State, Prescott's brother, 31-year-old Jace, has now passed away, leaving another familial hole for him to fight for during the 2020 season.

Jace Prescott, the family's middle brother, was also a football player, manning the offensive line at Haughton High School from 2008-10. He remained a large part of his brother's burgeoning NFL career, and was even featured in a Chunky Soup commercial just last year, along with Tad, the third sibling.
Of course, the family's matriarch, Peggy, lost her battle with colon cancer in 2013, a wound that hasn't truly healed for the Cowboys QB. This absence, much fresher, is devastating to the family unit's recovery.

We send our regards to the Prescott family, which has endured far too much tragedy in too short a time.
