Cowboys aren't expected to place the franchise tag on Tony Pollard

Changes are needed for the Dallas Cowboys, as the team somehow lost in the NFC Wild Card Round this year. Dak Prescott is locked in as the starting quarterback of the future, but things are a bit different at running back. Is Tony Pollard on the way out?
On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Cowboys are not expected to place the franchise tag on the 2022 NFL Pro Bowler. A long-term deal with Pollard doesn't feel likely at this point too. So, what will happen?

Pollard has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for Dallas, but Jerry Jones and Co. could look to invest money for him elsewhere. We'll find out soon enough if Pollard will be back with the Cowboys in 2024 or not.
