Cowboys Are One Trade Away From Winning NFL Offseason
By Michael Luciano
The Dallas Cowboys might have lost Byron Jones, but they have done a solid job at adding more firepower on both sides of the ball this offseason in order to make up for it. The selections of Trevon Diggs and Reggie Robinson II in the 2020 NFL Draft made for solid additions to the squad, but that secondary still needs one transformative piece to take it over the top.
Rather than messing around with moving corner Chidobe Awuzie to safety or relying on Xavier Woods, Dallas should call up the Minnesota Vikings and ask about an Anthony Harris trade.
Harris led all of football in 2019 with six interceptions despite only playing 14 games, and that ability to force turnovers is the one ingredient that is currently missing from the Cowboys' roster.
The Vikings have repeatedly waffled on their desire to trade him, as well as on the value they want in return for him, but the going rate for Harris for the longest time was a mid-round pick. If that is still all Minnesota wants in exchange for him, Dallas needs to get a deal done to make the former Virginia star a Cowboy.
Harris is a centerfielder with the range to take away a good chunk of the field, and that is exactly what defensive coordinator Mike Nolan is missing. No longer will Dak Prescott and the offense have to win games by themselves.
