Dak Prescott's 2019 Numbers Prove He's Garbage Against Playoff Teams

Overall, the Dallas Cowboys had a disappointing 2019 season. Despite having one of the most talented rosters in the league on paper, they finished 8-8 and missed out on the playoffs. It all culminated in a catastrophic 17-9 loss to the Eagles in Week 16 which eventually sealed their fate, leaving them on the outside of the postseason looking in.

If you look a little closer at the stats, you'll see a one unfortunate detail arise that indicts Dak Prescott directly. The quarterback was simply disastrous against eventual playoff teams the Cowboys faced, going just 1-6 in seven gams and throwing as many interceptions as touchdowns.

This begs a question that Cowboys fans surely need to ask: Is Dak worth a huge long-term contract? It's tough to say. At some points in his career, Dak has looked like he has potential to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but it seems like whenever his team needs him most, he disappears.

This is definitely not a trait you want your franchise quarterback to have. Dak will need to win big games in order to justify his spot in Big D no matter what kind of guaranteed money he's making. If he falls flat on the big stage, Jerry Jones has a problem.

It's clear that Dak can be a solid quarterback in the NFL, but it's uncertain as to whether he'll ever be one of the league's very best at this point. He's easily able to beat up on the poor teams; a 22:3 TD to interception ratio is excellent no matter the competition, but in high pressure situations, he hasn't been able to prove that he's the man for the job.
