Cowboys DE Robert Quinn Suffered Fractured Hand During Training Camp
By Thomas Carannante
The news out of Dallas Cowboys training camp continues to be underwhelming or downright bad.
In the midst of Ezekiel Elliott's holdout, as well as the contract situations with Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper, the Cowboys were dealt a minor blow on Tuesday when offseason acquisition Robert Quinn suffered a fractured hand.
The good news is that the defensive end is expected to be ready for the team's season opener against the New York Giants despite having to undergo surgery for the injury.
We're still over a month away from regular season action, so Quinn will have plenty of time to rest and fully heal.
Luckily for the Cowboys, this wasn't any worse than it was. The team has been impressed with his play, which will surely help out their top defense in an effort to capture another NFC East title.
Quinn, 29, played his first seven NFL seasons with the Rams before being traded to the Dolphins last year. Miami then cleaned house in the offseason and sent him to Dallas. He's a two-time Pro Bowler and was named an All-Pro in 2013 after logging 19 sacks and 23 tackles for a loss.
