Cowboys Fans Are Out of Their Minds if They Think They're Going to Get Sean Payton

Sean Payton suffered another brutal postseason exit as head coach of the New Orleans Saints. He made several key mistakes, and some questionable play-calling ended with a Saints loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

This loss came right around the time the Dallas Cowboys finally announced Jason Garrett's official dismissal. The weird back-and-forth is over, and the Cowboys can finally consider a new man for the job. Apparently, that had one Cowboys fan in particular wondering about the possibility of getting Sean Payton in Dallas.

Uh...no.

This may just be a question based out of pure curiosity. But if one fan is wondering, there must be others.

This idea is ludicrous and should not even be spoken into existence. If it floats around, Jerry Jones may hear it and consider the idea. Such a trade, if the Saints were willing, would cost an insane amount of draft capital the Cowboys need to keep building the team.

Also, Payton is...not...exactly...a living legend worthy of such things?

So if the Cowboys wanted Payton, it would require an enormous price for someone who has won four playoff games since 2011. There was that Super Bowl in 2009, but the point is that Payton has not exactly been Bill Belichick. His last decade actually resembled the coach just fired by Dallas.

Jones needs to make a big hire that will make his team better. Payton could be an option if he was available, but trading draft picks for a coach is not exactly the best strategy toward returning to a championship level.
