Cowboys Insider Claims Team Could 'Circle Back' on Jamal Adams Trade
By Mark Powell
Jamal Adams and the New York Jets have flirted with a long-term contract extension, but until the ink is dry, the Dallas Cowboys will continue to check in.
Adams is the kind of player you build a secondary around, and despite Joe Douglas' best efforts, the Jets can't help but screw this up. That's why Dallas -- in comparison somehow a very competent organization -- will do everything in their power to capitalize on New York's looming mistake.
Adams' price is rightfully high, both for the Cowboys in trade talks and the Jets should they want to end any speculation of their All-Pro safety playing elsewhere.
Back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons, as well as a 2019 campaign which made him an All-Pro, were deserved accolades for Adams, who maintains a physical edge on the back end of the Jets' defense. Yet, New York's lack of postseason experience lends itself well to the argument that Adams ought to be open to a change of scenery.
Adams is just the latest big-time safety for Jerry Jones to target. We'll see if the Jets bite.
