Jerry and Stephen Jones Won't Be in Same Room for 2020 Draft and People Can Stop Whining About 'Advantage' Now

Every NFL team is facing unprecedented circumstances ahead of Thursday night's NFL Draft, which is... somewhat inexplicably still happening, fully virtually.

In the weeks leading up to the event, with plenty of kinks to work out, some league sources voiced concerns. Not about pushing on with league business as the coronavirus crisis continues, but rather about Dallas Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones' supposed advantage of being able to share a home with his family braintrust, principally son and CEO/vice president Stephen Jones, while all other NFL teams' personnel were forced to be scattered.

From the jump, this was an impressively dumb course of action, but even that supposed "advantage" has been rendered entirely moot.

Per the latest buzz, the Joneses will be keeping up with each other from separate locations.

Aww, shucks, Dallas. Guess your advantage has been entirely dismantled!

Time to boot up a Zoom conference like the rest of us.

Clearly, using their digital resources hasn't hampered the Cowboys at all, especially during mock drafts intended to get GMs comfortable with the new-look draft process. Dallas even managed a trade-up AND a prank first overall pick during one of these dry runs.

See? Things'll be just fine, even without the bonus episode of Jones family "Succession" being filmed under the same roof.
