Cowboys Kicker Brett Maher Was Cut While He Was Visiting Sick Kids in the Hospital
The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of problems and one of those is at the kicker position.
Brett Maher was likely to be let go and indeed was Monday, though the way it happened was a horrendous look for the team.

The Cowboys couldn't have waited until tomorrow for this? The team had to have known Maher had this scheduled visit to a local hospital. After all, missing four of your last eight field goal attempts doesn't warrant this kind of treatment.
Then again, Jerry Jones probably couldn't care less. He's trying to salvage the 2019 season and likely wasn't thinking about what Maher was doing at that point in time.

We've seen a few instances like this happen already this year. Andy Dalton was benched on his birthday. The Jets waived Bennett Jackson shortly after wishing him a happy birthday too. But these optics are even worse.
It's safe to say everyone's hoping Maher lands on his feet elsewhere as quickly as possible.
