Cowboys Optimistic Ezekiel Elliott Will Avoid Suspension From NFL

After Ezekiel Elliott met Tuesday with Commissioner Roger Goodell, the Dallas Cowboys running back released a statement regarding his behavior and apologized to the fans.
Now, the team is reportedly optimistic the running back will avoid a suspension for his detainment in May.

Elliott was handcuffed for an altercation with a Las Vegas security guard while attending a music festival not too long ago.
Elliott is trying to avoid a second suspension in his short NFL career, the first stemming from a domestic violence case. Elliott has a reputation for off-the-field incidents, and that no doubt weighs on Goodell's mind when determining the consequences for the running back's actions.
The good news is that the team expects him to report to training camp and to avoid any suspension from the league office.
Nothing from the NFL yet following that tweeted statement by @EzekielElliott just now. We await Roger Goodell’s decision on the matter. Educated hunch is there won’t be a suspension here.

Elliott was a Pro Bowler last year for the second time in his career, leading the league in rushing with 1,434 yards. If he can avoid punishment from the NFL, the Cowboys will be expecting him to respond in a positive way and build off last year's campaign.
