After missing out on the playoffs last season, the Dallas Cowboys have re-tooled their roster in order to avenge their disappointing 2019 campaign. With some of the new acquisitions made via free agency and the NFL Draft, there are newcomers to the team that will be expected to make an immediate impact.

Here are a few guys that could take over starting jobs for Dallas sometime during 2020.

3. OL Tyler Biadasz

Following the retirement of longtime center Travis Frederick, Dallas will be in need of filling in a hole on the offensive line. Drafting Tyler Biadasz out of Wisconsin could fill the void. Although he was a fourth-round pick, Dallas has a knack for developing young offensive lineman into really good players. Expect Biadasz to take on a role in one of the interior line spots to free up running lanes for running back Ezekiel Elliott.

2. DB Trevon Diggs

Another draft pick of the 2020 class for Dallas, Diggs is expected to come in and play immediately. Dallas’ secondary could use a bit of help, and the younger brother of Bills wideout Stefon fits the bill. If incumbent Jourdan Lewis doesn't take the next step in terms of development, Diggs could find himself in a starting role, especially if the Cowboys go with heavy defensive back packages.

1. DL Aldon Smith

Although Smith has been out of football for the last handful of years because of suspension, Dallas is hoping he can regain his form after getting some reps at the onset of the season. DeMarcus Lawrence struggled to live up to the expectations of his new $100 million contract, but Smith can take some pressure off of his fellow defensive end. If he has his head on right, he can be a productive starter.
