Cowboys Reportedly Finalizing Long-Term Contract With Ezekiel Elliott
By Michael Luciano
The long wait is close to being over, and Ezekiel Elliott could finally be rejoining the Dallas Cowboys and sign a new contract that will make him one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL.
The superstar running back, who missed the entire preseason while training by himself in Cabo due to a holdout, is reportedly about to get a new deal.
This comes shortly after it was reported the two sides were making progress.
In just three seasons, Elliott has made two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team. He's led the league in rushing yards per game every season that he's been in the league, and led the NFL with 1,434 yards last year.
While some Cowboys fans might get irate with this deal, as paying Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper just became that much more difficult, the Cowboys will finally have their top asset on either side of the ball back and ready to go.
While it remains to be seen if he'll play in Week 1 against the New York Giants, Cowboy Nation has to be ecstatic that Elliott is closer to returning to the team and taking the field in Week 1.
