3 Teams That Should Screw the Cowboys by Driving up Price on Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys want to keep Dak Prescott as their quarterback following an excellent 2019 season, but there is still a small chance that the former fourth-round pick demands a contract and/or yearly salary too expensive for a Cowboys team that is spending big money elsewhere on this roster. These three teams are all in need of a quarterback, and could easily give Dak such a huge deal that is forces the Cowboys to accept that they can't afford Prescott.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

For as much as we make fun of Jameis Winston and his 30 interceptions, Bruce Arians was able to win seven games with a below-average roster and a turnover machine at quarterback. Arians has clearly shown a preference for playing veteran quarterbacks over rookies and prospects, and Prescott has the arm talent, experience, and categorical football knowledge to become a tremendous addition to Arians' vertical passing game.

2. Miami Dolphins

Miami is in need of a quarterback, and is expected to use the No. 5 pick on exactly that this upcoming draft. However, Brian Flores has a lot of holes to fill on this roster, and he could decide to use Miami's league-best cap space to sign Prescott above market value, then use his three first and two second-round picks to plug up all the holes elsewhere on this Miami roster. The turnaround from laughing stock to division contender would be complete if they followed this philosophy this offseason

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Philip Rivers will not be back next season, but that doesn't mean that the Chargers, still in possession of an incredibly deep roster, should pack it in and ride with a rookie quarterback next season. The Spanos family and GM Tom Telesco are normally hesitant to spend money, but adding Prescott to a talented offense coached by a rock-solid leader in Anthony Lynn could help keep the Chargers afloat in 2020 as they look to surge back to playoff contention. This would also free them up to use pick No. 6 on an offensive lineman.
