This Starter Won't Be Back With the Cowboys in 2021

For Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, handing out a new monster contract to Dak Prescott isn't the only tough decision he has on his plate for the near future. Several standouts will be looking to get paid, or be out of contract come next season.

Such is the case for veteran defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford. The eight-year vet signed a blockbuster five-year, $45 million deal with Dallas back in 2015, but the Boise State product has yet to find a real rhythm in the Cowboys defense. He'll be an unrestricted free agent come 2021 as well.

Crawford has been bouncing around between defensive tackle and defensive end for the last few seasons. Compound that with only playing four games last year, and it looks like Dallas may have to let him walk next offseason.

Even though Crawford hasn't been a consistent star like the Cowboys envisioned, he is still a solid lineman, as he accumulated 14 sacks as well as an average PFF grade of 71.1 between 2016 and 2018, and should still warrant a multi-year deal next offseason. But, Dallas likely won't be that team to give him another big paycheck.

With the Cowboys needing to shelf out multiple pricey extensions and Crawford not 100% living up to his last contract, it seems like the versatile lineman may have to find a new home in 2021.
