Cowboys and Raiders Reportedly Among 5 Teams Interested in Chris Harris Jr.
By Will Coleman
Defensive back Chris Harris Jr. is set to hit free agency for the first time in his nine-year NFL career, and it appears his time is up with the Denver Broncos.
The four-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl champion has already drawn attention from several teams in search of a boost to their secondaries.
With the Broncos likely to place the franchise tag on safety Justin Simmons, the Cowboys, Lions, Raiders, Texans and Jets have all reportedly expressed interest in pursuing Harris Jr. this offseason.
Harris Jr. is considered one of the prized gems among available cornerbacks in this loaded free agent class. The 30-year-old began his pro career as an undrafted signee out of Kansas and has slowly developed into of the league's most consistent and reliable defenders.
More teams will likely emerge as potential suitors for Harris Jr. before free agency officially opens up later this month. Harris Jr. said he'd be willing to come back to Denver, but Broncos executives have priorities elsewhere and it's likely he's wearing a new uniform in 2020.
