Cowboys Avoid 2nd Round Disaster as Alabama's Trevon Diggs Falls Into Their Lap

The Dallas Cowboys know that they need to add a defensive back in order to keep the defense from falling into the shambolic tier, but they decided to eschew the likes of Xavier McKinney when they selected Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb No. 17 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Cowboys avoided a major disaster when they used the No. 52 overall pick on Alabama cornerback Trevon Diggs after he slipped a bit.

Dallas went for the flashy star receiver in Round 1, and now they are adding the younger brother of Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs.
Diggs had some rough reps in the LSU game, but this is a guy who stands out as one of the best athletes at the cornerback position in this draft and one of the best cornerbacks in college football when it comes to press coverage.
Those plus traits and experience under Nick Saban should make him a perfect fit in Mike Nolan's defense.

Dallas' secondary was ravaged by free agency, and they haven't done much to address it in the offseason. Diggs, however, fell into their laps, as he has legit CB1 potential given his college pedigree.
