VIDEO: Craig Counsell Details Why Brewers Stars Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun Haven't Played Yet
By Brendan Balsamo

The Milwaukee Brewers have been banged up this spring, with Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun on the shelf. The two sluggers have yet to see any action, which has been a concern considering the Brew Crew absolutely need to be at full strength to make a playoff run, especially after losing sluggers Yasmani Grandal and Mike Moustakas in free agency. Manager Craig Counsell spoke more about Braun and Yelich on Tuesday to provide some clarity for the fans.

The good news is that Yelich's knee is not behind the reason for him not playing. Counsell said that the only reason Yelich and Braun have yet to play is because he believes position players don't need as much time to prepare for the season as Spring Training gives them.
He went on to say that even though Braun is battling a little shoulder soreness when he swings, it has nothing to do with his lack of time on the field. He will be making his scheduled debut at the end of the week.
Ryan Braun has been dealing with a sore shoulder, Craig Counsell said, but is still on track to debut as scheduled at the end of this week. It doesn’t affect him throwing, only hitting, per CC.

Brewers fans can relax knowing these guys aren't dealing with any injuries that will hold them back for the start of the regular season.
