Crew Chief Calls Aaron Boone Out for Being Inappropriate During Rant at Home Plate Umpire
By Adam Weinrib

The whole world enjoyed Aaron Boone calling out the home plate umpire for ruining the afternoon of his "f***ing savages" at the plate on Thursday, right?
Well, not the umpire's crew chief.
In the postgame scrum following Game 2 of the doubleheader, Gerry Davis made it entirely clear that he was not amused, and felt Boone went too far.
From a pool report with crew chief Gerry Davis:

Q: Do you think Boone went too far with the rant?
A: "You’re not allowed to argue balls and strikes so yeah. So yes he did."
Q: Did he go too far with the cursing?
A: "Yes, absolutely."
Yes, it's true that you can't argue balls and strikes. Yes, that's also entirely irrelevant.
Boone knew what he was doing! Sticking up for his team, a squad that watches Aaron Judge get punched out on pitches that somehow land below his feet on the daily. Of course it went too far! Boonie had no intention of sticking it out through that game.
Crew chef Gerry Davis on if Aaron Boone went too far w/ his cursing at plate ump Brennan Miller: "Yes, absolutely."

So, for next, time, Aaron, make sure not to hurt any crew chiefs' feelings! If even one person dislikes you, your extremely viral moment wasn't a success.
