Cris Carter Says Kawhi Leonard Won't Sign Friday and Isn't Interested in Short-Term Contract
By Parker White
The thought was that free agent superstar Kawhi Leonard would being making his decision on who he's signing with by Friday, but it appears that he's still undecided and we'll have to wait a few more days.
First Things First co-host Cris Carter has been all over this story and also reported that Kawhi is not interested in signing a short-term contract.
While we don't know where he's going to sign, Leonard is choosing between three teams, as he's met with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers before sitting down with the incumbent Toronto Raptors.
The longer Kawhi's decision drags out, the worse it'll be for these teams who still need to put together a complete roster. It really hurts the Lakers, who are starved of young, cheap talent because they sent them to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.
The Lakers have a lot of roster spots to fill, and waiting on Kawhi has limited their ability to bring aboard quality role players.
