Cristian Pache and Ian Anderson Lead Charge for Braves at Futures Game
By Sean Facey
The Braves will be well represented at this year's edition of the Futures Game.
Star prospects Cristian Pache and Ian Anderson are set to lead the charge for Atlanta as just two of the many young talents that populate the Braves' packed farm system.
Pache, 20, has had a breakout year in Double-A. After managing just nine home runs through 112 games in 2018, he found his power stroke, swatting 11 through 73 games this year to the tune of a .530 slugging percentage.
He also has 20 doubles and six triples, giving him 37 extra-base hits on the year. Pache ranks as the No. 14 overall prospect in baseball
Ian Anderson, 21, has been equally impressive in 2019. The third-overall pick from the 2016 draft has posted a 2.94 ERA in Double-A with a whopping 113 strikeouts in just 85 2/3 innings of work. He recently fanned 14 in a combined no-hitter.
His strong campaign has more than affirmed his status as the 26th overall prospect in baseball.
Pache and Anderson are just two of the many exciting talents that seem to flow endlessly from the Braves' pipeline, which contains five Top-100 prospects.
It will no doubt be exciting to watch the two of them represent their organization as they square off against fellow prospects from around the league.
