By Jerry Trotta

Major League Baseball appears to be making strides in its efforts to start the 2020 regular season. Per the latest buzz, the league is targeting late June for its long-awaited return amid the coronavirus pandemic. In the meantime, baseball fans have been forced to dig into the archives for old highlights to sate their appetites. Luckily for Chicago Cubs diehards, the club's official Twitter account posted an awesome memory of the team's thrilling victory over the hated St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 NLDS.

This is everything that Cubs fans need to pass the time in quarantine. After all, the victory holds significant historic implications. The dub gave Chicago the opportunity to compete for the NL pennant for the first time in over a decade. It also marked the first time in franchise history that the Cubs clinched a postseason series at Wrigley Field, which opened 106 years ago in 1914.
Things were tied up 4-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when Anthony Rizzo broke the deadlock with a solo home run. Kyle Schwarber added a solo shot of his own in the seventh, and Chicago didn't look back.
The clip of Hector Rondon striking out Stephen Piscotty to seal the deal should still give Windy City devotees the chills.
Happy Birthday to former Cubs closer Hector Rondon.

Please comeback soon, baseball. We miss you dearly.
