VIDEO: Cubs' David Bote Helps Fans With Gender Reveal at Spring Training
By Karl Rasmussen
A pair of Chicago Cubs fans were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience on Tuesday when they attended the team's Spring Training game against the Colorado Rockies. The couple, who are expecting their first child, got David Bote to participate in an epic gender reveal ahead of the game. The man tossed a baseball to Bote, who smashed it open to divulge the couple would be having a baby girl.
The parents both admitted they were expecting a boy, but lo and behold, the ball exploded into a mass of pink powder.
Bote seemed thrilled to be part of the special moment, wildly celebrating before going over and hugging the soon-to-be parents.
The 26-year-old infielder is a family man through and through, having flown to Colorado for the birth of one of his daughters after hitting a walk-off against the Arizona Diamondbacks last April. Who better to take part in a gender reveal at Spring Training?
