VIDEO: Cubs Fan Falls Over Railing in Pursuit of Javier Baez Spring Training Homer
By Sean Facey
Snagging a home run ball at a baseball game is a feeling unlike any other. It's a moment that you get to treasure for the rest of your life. Sometimes, though, fans get a little bit carried away in their pursuit to corral a souvenir, like this poor fellow who took a massive tumble over a railing in an attempt to pocket Javier Baez's Spring Training blast.
Hey, he got the ball though, so at least his efforts weren't in vain!
As for the rest of the Chicago Cubs fans in attendance, it probably won't be long before another ball comes their way. Baez and the Cubs have been hitting rockets with ease in the early going of spring training.
Baez's smooth swing was on full display Sunday, and he got a hold of this pitch and unloaded it out to straightaway center.
If nothing else, though, this fan's tumble onto the grass should serve as a reminder that no obstacle can stand in the way of someone who has a home run ball in their sights, especially one that came off the bat of a fan favorite like El Mago.
